Jon Self
Owner and lead guide
For Jon, guiding is about more than catching fish or harvesting birds—it’s about creating experiences that bring people together. As the owner and lead guide of Self Outdoor Guide Service, he is passionate about sharing his love for Oklahoma’s lakes, wildlife, and upland traditions with every guest who steps into the boat or the field.
Known for his patience, knowledge, and dedication, Jon strives to make every trip enjoyable for hunters and anglers of all experience levels. Whether you’re chasing trophy crappie, snagging paddlefish, or walking behind bird dogs in pursuit of quail, his goal is to provide an adventure you’ll remember long after the day is over.
Outside of guiding, Jon enjoys training bird dogs, exploring new places to hunt and fish, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Operations & Marketing
Niki manages the day-to-day operations, marketing, reservations, and communications for Self Outdoor Guide Service. She works behind the scenes to ensure every guest has a seamless experience from booking to the end of their adventure.

Fishing Guide
Licensed guide, Andrew Self, brings a wealth of knowledge about crappie fishing to the table and we can assure you will be in good hands anytime you share the boat with him for a day of crappie catching.

Upland Hunting Guide Assistant
Knute assists with our guided upland bird hunts, helping with guests, equipment, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable hunting experience.
